Ontario Renovates: home repair and accessibility funding

Ontario Renovates is run by each region's housing office, not by the province, so whether it's offered, how much it pays and when it opens depend on where you live.

By ParentCare Ontario Editorial, published by Otonabee Marketing. Facts checked October 28, 2026. General information, not tax, legal or medical advice.

Where it's offered, it usually gives low- and moderate-income homeowners a 10-year forgivable loan for essential repairs, with part of the cost of accessibility changes paid as a grant. Most programs have a home value cap and require quotes from licensed contractors. Work started before approval isn't funded.
